Tell us a little about your organization – what does Indy Scale do and how do you serve your clients?

Indianapolis Scale Company is a provider of weighing, measurement, and automation solutions serving customers across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, logistics, food processing, agriculture, transportation, and government. We help clients ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency through the sale, installation, calibration, repair, and maintenance of scales and related measurement systems. In addition to traditional weighing equipment, we provide automation and integration solutions that help organizations improve productivity and reduce downtime. Our team serves as a trusted partner, delivering responsive service and technical expertise throughout the entire lifecycle of our clients’ weighing equipment and systems.

What makes you stand out from others in your field?

We truly put our customers first and build long term relationships with each customer we serve. We have a large technician work force to meet our customers demands with years of experience. We can get a 50 year old mechanical scale up and running or we can install automation solutions to speed up a processing line plus everything in between. We take quality very seriously and our customers know what they will receive when we show up on-site.

Why is technology so crucial to your success as a business? How does partnering with C2IT aid in your success?

We went digital back in 2019 from an all paper office and scale certificates to a digital platform. Our technicians use a tablet to complete all work orders and certifications. It cuts our admin time in half having this system. Without it, our jobs would be longer costing the customer more money due to completing all the required paperwork by hand that keeps them compliant. C2IT keeps us running when issues arise within the third-party scale database system we use as well handle any technical desktop issues we may run into. They handle everything I don’t want to deal with which frees up my time to focus more on the business versus in it.

From the first conversation, what was the experience like working with C2IT? What did you appreciate about the team at C2IT and how they worked with you?

From the first day I talked to Keith until present time, it has been extremely easy to meet and maintain our IT goals with C2IT as our IT partner. Our infrastructure is ANCIENT (although not for long!) with on-site, outdated servers. I was looking for a partner with experience to bring us up to current times and the whole C2IT team has been a dream to work with. Keith checks in to make sure things are going well, Andrew and Joe are quick to answer my questions or send over equipment quotes, Matt and Ben are wonderful to work with when they have come on-site to get certain things working. I am very grateful for the recommendation made to us a couple years ago to work with the C2IT team.

C2IT’s 4 values are Loyal Partnerships, Attentive Discovery, Economic Value, and Cohesive Teamwork – can you cite specific examples of where you saw these values play out?

Attentive Discovery and Economic Value (see an example of Cohesive teamwork above) – They were patient and thorough when walking through our current setup given its current state. I mean our current equipment is a step above a type writer so they had/have their work cut out for them over the last year or so. I knew this IT upgrade was going to cost money but I wasn’t sure how much. Being a small business, we have to watch our costs and C2IT is aware of these hurdles businesses like mine face when it comes to budgeting. We were able to break this decent size project up into smaller phases so we could budget accordingly. That alone meant the world to me. They were able to take all the discovery items and put them into bite size chunks in a way that is making this upgrade feasible.

What exciting things lay ahead in your future? What can we be watching for in the coming months?

We have officially put phase 3 in motion to ditch these on-site servers and move solely to the cloud (cue the confetti)! This is something I have wanted to get done for 3-4 years. This move alone will allow more flexibility for some employees and myself to work from home when needed. It will also make maintaining our IT systems easier for all involved. I am very, very excited for this phase of the project and having C2IT in my corner to help coordinate it all.
