“Agile” is a word that we often hear thrown around in the tech industry, specifically in software development. In short, the Agile Software Development Cycle helps deliver a product (software – in our case) to a customer faster. How often do you hear that word in the trucking industry? Well, for Daum Trucking, being agile is a cornerstone of their business. Daum Trucking is a local Plainfield trucking company that has been in business for four generations. Since 1930, Daum has taken pride in being a flexible, family-owned business with a commitment to provide its customers with the best experience possible. Daum provides transport for foodstuffs and dry goods, perishables and hardware, bulk commodities, and air freight – expedited shipments of all kinds.

In 2019, we began working with Daum along with another IT provider that wanted help with upcoming projects and overall network maintenance. Daum was looking for an upgrade to their email system as they wanted the ability to receive emails on all their devices and have them synchronize, access calendars that were shared and synchronized, and more, which is essential to business nowadays and especially to a trucking company. We helped migrate them to an email service that was more in line with their needs as a company. We also helped them transition from Windows 7 to Windows 10, as Windows 7 was nearing its end of life. In the two years since, we have maintained their network, enhanced their Wi-Fi system, and kept their website updated.

This has been a growing relationship, not only with the other IT provider but with Daum as a whole. Communication with the other IT provider is key to this relationship of sharing IT services. We’ve enjoyed the opportunity to work with Daum and getting to know their systems better. Often when we get a new IT client onboard, we’re helping them out of a toxic relationship that is no longer a good fit for them. This has not been the case with Daum. We’ve been able to work closely with the other IT provider on day-to-day emergencies, and we’ve worked with Daum on any larger projects they may need.

If you need help with transportation logistics, definitely get in contact with Daum. We hope we’ll be able to work with and see Daum continue to grow for several generations to come.
