There’s a scrap of paper in my notebook and a corner of my whiteboard where I list some “prominent local businesses” we’d love to work with down the road. We don’t know how these relationships will come to be, or even if they ever will, but that list is out there, and over the years we’ve seen several of these “wish list clients” come to fruition and join the C2IT family. The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and 911 Center were not on this list, however, but we couldn’t be more thrilled to add them to those we serve.
I’ve known Rich Myers, the Morgan County Sheriff, for years. My son and his daughter are in the same class at a small school, so it’s inevitable that our lives will intersect now and then. I sat down near Rich a few months ago at a volleyball game and decided to ask him, “so how do you guys do technology at your office?” Rich, being the excellent leader and delegator he is, as well as a man with a generous heart, referred me to David, one of his majors, to field this question. Not dismayed but also not hopeful, I reached out to Dave and discovered my timing couldn’t have come at a better time – the Sheriff’s office and 911 center were looking to find a new technology partner, and they’d really like to work with someone local, small, and dedicated to their success. Check, check, and check.
Many times when we onboard a new IT Client, we’re helping them out of a toxic relationship where everything is broken, urgency is high, and there’s no one keeping this ship afloat. Such was not the case with this new client, and while any transition like this is hard and bumpy, the shared vision and values of our organizations have made the trip a good one thus far, and we’re looking forward to seeing the relationship blossom over time.
Yes, we’re proud to have a client people recognize. That doesn’t happen that often, actually. Most of our clients are small businesses just like our own out there to do their thing without needing much recognition. It’s nice to say we work with this client or that one, but even more than that, it’s great to be able to have the CLIENT be the one proud to work with our team, and from all we have seen thus far, this new relationship should be a win-win for all involved.
Rich, David, and Scott – thank you for the trust you have placed in our team to see you through this transition and into a new era of technical excellence. We look forward to seeing this relationship grow and the fruits it will yield to all of us.
