Over the past 20 years, C2IT has been honored to partner with some incredible clients to help them leverage their technology to achieve their goals. In early 2024, we were approached with an incredible opportunity to partner with a local non-profit called Strides to Success.
Located right here in our community, Strides to Success is a leader in equine-assisted services and education. Strides’ mission is to provide unique equine experiences that promote learning opportunities that strengthen and develop lives. Strides to Success combines a research-based learning model with metaphoric experiences that encourage personal growth and development in both adults and youth. They offer services in the areas of mental health, therapy, coaching, mentoring, veterans, professional development, and leadership training.
C2IT received an inquiry from Strides to Success to help them upgrade their computers, their network around their spacious property, including their therapy rooms and classrooms, offices, horse barn, teaching arena, and outdoor round pen. Strides had qualified for a generous grant through the Hendricks County Community Foundation, and needed help completing the project.
C2IT happily jumped in, eager to lend a helping hand. We started by doing a discovery, sending a few of our team members to Strides to learn what technology they had currently, what their goals were, and how we would recommend they leverage technology to maximize their impact and achieve long-term goals.
Our first realization was that the current internet service they were utilizing wouldn’t support their long-term goals, which included video streaming so they could train other similar organizations around the world. Through our contacts, we were able to connect an ISP with Strides, and they were willing to run a new line to their property and provide a much faster, more reliable internet service. Once this new service was in place, we could dream and begin planning the next steps.
Additional items that needed attention had been revealed at our discovery, and we narrowed our focus to knock those off the list. We ordered new computers and monitors for the staff that would fit their needs and set them up for each staff member. We worked with WN Electric to run cables for new access points around the property and throughout the barns and offices and classrooms. We knew adding new access points strategically would provide better, more reliable Wi-Fi connections across their entire facility. We also cleaned out their old “tech closet” and streamlined things, making sure to eliminate things that were unnecessary or unused and replacing the older items with newer cables and hardware. The final step was to install an outdoor / weatherproof access point that would provide internet access to their outdoor round pen. Once everything was installed, we ensured everything was configured correctly and working well.
We were honored to partner with such a great organization and also come alongside The Hendricks County Community Foundation to help Strides to Success accomplish some of their long-term goals.
