If you own a business, you know the value of having a Google Business Profile. It can easily allow potential clients or customers to find you as well as give them a quick and easy way to check hours, find your website, and contact you. What happens though if there’s a second Google Business Profile for your business? It can be frustrating and confusing for people trying to find your business if they run across both profiles.

Luckily, there’s a relatively simple path to follow to claim and then merge duplicate Google Business Profiles. According to this article by Soci, here are the steps you need to follow:

  1. Open Google Maps
  2. Enter your business name in the search bar
  3. Click on the business name (making sure to select the correct one)
  4. Click Claim This Business > Manage Now
  5. Choose a verification option, and follow the steps on screen

Once you’ve claimed your Google listings, you’ll be able to merge them. To merge Google listings, start by making sure the duplicate listings match your listing’s address exactly. If the addresses match, you can contact Google and request that they merge the two listings using this form. If the addresses do not match exactly, then you should use the “Suggest an edit” feature and mark that the location does not exist.
