ABC Distributors
ABC Distributors Inc. is a general merchandise wholesale distributor located in Plainfield, IN. They are a family owned business built from a one room shop in 1960 into one of the largest wholesale companies in the nation.
Our Goal
ABC’s main goal was the creation of a new website to better display their products. We also wanted to make better use of the space and make sure the site was responsive and mobile friendly. Initially they wanted to have a better web presence than their current website allowed with the goal that they would like to start moving to an e-commerce site roughly 3 months after their initial launch. Version 1 of their website would include a small number of products they sell, but without the ability to purchase online. Additionally, we set goals of solidifying a branding scheme for the website as well as taking professional photographs of their products and premises.
The Process
The first piece we tackled was an updated logo and branding scheme. This would give us a solid ground to start off of when building out the rest of the website. The new color pallet includes a darker red which is easier on the eyes for viewing on a screen as well as a blue which matches the outside of their building. Additionally we updated their logo to a more modern feeling sans serif font that fit in the navigation better.
The new website was built on the foundation of WooCommerce so that when ABC makes the switch to an e-commerce site, the work we’ve done so far will not be obsolete.
Additional Services
Part of our project included suggestions for an updated logo to use on their website instead of just their town seal. Having a horizontal aligned logo would work better with the navigation we were planning as well as allow aspects of the logo – particularly the “Home of the Indiana State Flag” – to be more readable. The goal was to keep many of the same elements to really incorporate this as an extension of the Town of Mooresville’s brand.
